MADINAH: Hajj and Umrah pilgrims in Madinah are always particularly interested in those historic and archaeological monuments linked to Prophet Muhammad, seeking to learn more about the sites and how their facilities have been developed over the years.
The Al-Ghars Well, which is located in Al-Awali neighborhood and close to the Prophet’s Mosque, is one such example.
It has undergone developmental works and improvements as part of a program that has included several mosques and historic and archaeological sites and monuments in Madinah.
The program aims to preserve the sites’ architectural characteristics within a tasteful restoration to enhance the visitors’ experience.
Visitors to the Al-Ghars Well drink water from water stations and take photos.
A tour of popular locations takes in many sites, including Uhud Martyrs Square and the Al-Romat Mountain, as well as the mosques of Quba, Al-Qiblatain, Al-Khandaq, Al-Ghamama, Al-Ijabah and Al-Saqiya.
Visitors also search out the historic wells at which the Prophet Muhammad washed, drank or performed ablution.
