AlUla Arts Festival to feature work from new artist residency programs

DUBAI: Saudi Arabia’s Arts AlUla on Wednesday announced a series of new artist residency programs that will be presenting their work at the upcoming AlUla Arts Festival, with an aim to elevate the historic destination as a cultural focus, and invite artists and designers from around the world to contribute to the storyline of this vital heritage.

Arts AlUla and the French Agency for AlUla Development (Afalula) launched the new season of the AlUla Artist Residency Programme, with five residencies and one alumni program taking place during the 2023/2024 season.

Artists and designers from all over the world have participated in a rich and diverse range of residencies, spanning visual arts and performance, botanical and landscaping, heritage and innovation, and more.

During the AlUla Arts Festival, running from Feb. 9 to March 2, visitors will see some of the creations of the AlUla Artist Residency Programmes as they preview within the festival itself.

The residencies include the AlUla Visual Art Residency; AlUla Design Residency; The Arts, Landscaping, Botany and Agriculture Residency; AlUla Heritage and Innovation Residency; long-term residencies and alumni residencies.
