- Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to the enhancement of customs surveillance of imports and exports in Saudi Arabia
RIYADH: An attempt to smuggle 1,364,706 captagon pills into Saudi Arabia was thwarted when inspectors from the Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority found the drugs hidden in a shipment at Al-Batha Port.
Officials said the drugs were discovered during a search of a consignment labeled as “air conditioning units.”
Authorities reaffirmed their commitment to the enhancement of customs surveillance of imports and exports in the Kingdom.
They said officers remain vigilant in their efforts to prevent smuggling, as part of their core strategy to strengthen security and protect Saudi society by foiling drug-trafficking attempts.
